All I/O uses M12 connectors, which are common in railway applications for shock and vibration resistance.
The ITA-8100 accepts a DC input of 24/48/72/110 V (±40%), connected via an M12 A-coded 4 pin (male) connector. Power input voltage varies by SKU: the -L0x models are rated 24-48V and the -S0x models are rated 72-110V.
The ITA-8100 operates from -40 to 70 °C (-40 to 158 °F), with tolerance up to 85 °C (185 °F) for 10 minutes, meeting EN 50155 temperature class OT4+ST1. Storage temperature range is -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F).

The ITA-8100 uses 1 x DDR3L SODIMM, with 4GB installed by default and support for up to 8GB. Storage is provided by 1 x M.2 2242 SSD slot, with 64GB installed by default.
The ITA-8100 supports Windows 10 and Linux.
The ITA-8100 measures 310 x 214 x 70 mm (12.2 x 8.4 x 2.8 in) and weighs 4.5 kg (9.9 lb). The enclosure is constructed of aluminum/iron.
Wireless connectivity is not built in, but an optional expansion kit (ITA8-3SMA-01) can add GPS, WiFi, LTE, or GSM-R connections. Note that the base unit does not carry RED Certification. Contact the manufacturer for details on this expansion kit.
SKUs in the ITA-8100 family differ by:
- Input voltage: -L0x models are 24-48V, -S0x models are 72-110V
- Brightness: standard models are 500 nits, ITA-8100B models are 1300 nits
- Function keys: 00 models have 32 keypads, 01 models have 1 key
All SKUs share the same 4GB DDR3L memory and 64GB M.2 SSD default configuration.
How-to Guides
- Obtain the optional ITA8-CBLE-01 cable kit, which includes a power cable: M12 A-coded 4 pin (female) to Y-type terminals, 50cm.
- Connect the M12 A-coded 4 pin female connector to the ITA-8100's power input port (M12 A-coded 4 pin male).
- Wire the DC supply (24/48/72/110 V ±40%, matching your SKU's rated input voltage) to the Y-type terminal ends.
- Use the ITA8-CBLE-01 cable kit for standard connections.
- For Ethernet, connect the M12 X-coded 8 pin (male) to RJ45 (female) cables, 100cm, to each LAN port.
- For serial devices, connect the M12 A-coded 5 pin (male) to D-sub 9 pin (male) cables, 20cm, to each COM port.
- For USB, connect the M12 A-coded 4 pin (male) to USB Type-A (female) cable, 50cm, to the USB port.
- Prepare a panel cutout measuring 295.65 x 267 mm (per the dimension drawing) to fit the unit.
- Position the unit's 6-hole mounting pattern (Ø6.5 mm holes) against the cutout.
- Secure the unit using the 6 mounting holes as indicated on the dimension drawing.
- For extra COM, CAN, DIO, or MVB connections, order the ITA8-2DB9-01 expansion kit.
- For GPS, WiFi, LTE, or GSM-R connections, order the ITA8-3SMA-01 expansion kit.
