Frequently Asked Questions
The Nuvis-534RT is powered by an AMD Ryzen™ Embedded V1807B processor (4-core/8-thread, 2M Cache, 3.35/3.8 GHz, 35W-54W TDP) with integrated Vega GPU (11 compute units).
The system includes:
- 4x Gigabit Ethernet ports (Intel® I350-AM4 controller), with PoE+ support (IEEE 802.3at PSE, 80W total power budget)
- 4x USB 3.1 Gen1 (5 Gbps) ports
- 1x VGA port (up to 1920x1200)
- 1x DisplayPort (up to 4K UHD)
- 1x software-programmable RS-232/422/485 port (COM1)
- 3x 3-wire RS-232 ports (COM2/3/4) or 1x RS-422/485 port (COM2)
- 1x 3.5mm audio jack for mic-in/speaker-out
The Nuvis-534RT includes dedicated machine-vision I/O managed by Neousys' patented MCU-based DTIO V2 or NuMCU firmware for microsecond-scale real-time control:
- 4-CH LED lighting controller output (constant current mode, up to 2A per channel, 100 kHz dimming; or constant voltage mode, 24VDC, 100 kHz dimming)
- 4-CH camera trigger output (isolated 12VDC output)
- 1-CH quadrature encoder input (A/B/Z)
- 4-CH isolated high-speed digital output (<2us transient time, for strobe/PWM)
- 4-CH isolated high-current digital output (up to 500mA rated current for actuator)
- 8-CH isolated high-speed digital input (<2us transient time)
The system accepts 8~35VDC input via a 3-pin pluggable terminal block. Supplying voltage over 35V will damage the system. A separate 3-pin pluggable terminal block is provided for remote on/off control and PWR LED output.
The operating temperature is -25°C to 70°C, with the upper limit of 70°C only achievable if the external-accessible fan is installed. For sub-zero or over 60°C operation, a wide temperature HDD or SSD is required. Storage temperature is -40°C to 85°C. Humidity range is 10%~90%, non-condensing.
The system has one M.2 2280 M key NVMe socket (PCIe Gen3 x2) for SSD storage, and one SODIMM socket supporting up to 32GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM.
The system meets CE/FCC Class A EMC compliance according to EN 55032 & EN 55024. It is also tested for vibration (MIL-STD-810G, Method 514.6, Category 4) and shock (MIL-STD-810G, Method 516.6, Procedure I, Table 516.6-II).
The Nuvis-534RT measures 82mm (W) x 118mm (D) x 176mm (H) and weighs 1.5kg. It supports DIN-rail mount (standard) or wall-mount (optional).
Both models use the AMD Ryzen™ V1807B ultra-compact vision controller with vision-specific I/O and real-time control. The Nuvis-534RT-DTIO uses DTIO firmware for real-time I/O control, while the Nuvis-534RT-NuMCU uses NuMCU firmware for the same purpose.
How-to Guides
- Confirm the DC power source supplies between 8 and 35VDC. Supplying over 35V will damage the system.
- Use the supplied 3-pin pluggable terminal block to connect the DC power leads.
- Use the screw clamping mechanism on the terminal block to secure the wiring for reliable connection.
- Insert the terminal block into the DC-IN connector on the front panel.
- Locate the 3-pin Remote On/Off terminal block on the front panel.
- Connect an external switch to this connector to allow remote power control when the system is placed in a cabinet or hard-to-reach location.
- Optionally connect an external status LED (15mA) to the PWR LED and GND pins to indicate power status remotely.
- Attach the included DIN-rail mount clip to the system chassis using the provided screw package.
- Position the system onto the DIN rail and press until it clips into place.
- Alternatively, use the optional wall-mount configuration if DIN-rail mounting is not required.
- Enter the BIOS setup utility during system boot.
- For COM1, select the desired operation mode (RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485), slew rate, and termination settings.
- For COM2, configure it as a single RS-422/485 port, or configure COM2/COM3/COM4 as three separate 3-wire RS-232 ports.
- Save and exit BIOS settings to apply the configuration.
- To reset the whole system after a halt or malfunction, use a pin-like object (e.g., the tip of a pen) to press the Reset button located behind the front panel.
- To reset only the real-time vision I/O MCU without affecting the rest of the system, use a pin-like object to press the MCU Reset button, also located behind the panel.
Nuvis-534RT is a high-performance, ultra-compact vision controller with integrated camera interfaces, vision-specific I/Os and real-time control for machine vision applications. Powered by AMD Ryzen™ Embedded V1807B 4-core/ 8-thread processor, it provides superb performances equivalent to mainstream desktop CPUs while retaining a compact 8.2 cm x 11.8 cm x 17.6 cm (3.4” x 4.6” x 6.9”) dimensions.
Nuvis-534RT offers unique vision-oriented I/O configurations, including constant-current lighting controller to directly drive LED lights, isolated 12V trigger output to activate cameras, encoder input to acquire position information and DIO to connect to sensors/ actuators. All of the above visionoriented I/Os can be managed by Neousys’ patented DTIO V2 or NuMCU technology to guarantee real-time trigger/ response in micro-second scale.
The combination of high performance and small footprint gives Nuvis-534RT a distinctive 1-2 punch advantage where the vision system can be easily deployed with USB 3.1 and GigE cameras and without space restrictions.
