What are the power input requirements?

The Nuvo-7160GC accepts 8~35VDC DC input through a 3-pin pluggable terminal block. An optional 280W AC/DC power adapter (PA-280W-ET2, 24V/11.67A) is also available, rated for -30°C to 60°C operation.

What is the operating temperature range?

Operating temperature depends on CPU/GPU configuration:

  • -25°C to 60°C with 35W CPU and 120W GPU
  • -25°C to 60°C with 65W CPU and 120W GPU, configured as 35W TDP
  • -25°C to 50°C with 65W CPU and 120W GPU, configured as 65W TDP

For i7-9700E and i7-8700 running at 65W mode, maximum operating temperature is limited to 50°C, and thermal throttling may occur under sustained full load. A wide temperature HDD or SSD is required for sub-zero operation. Storage temperature range is -40°C to 85°C, and humidity range is 10%~90% non-condensing.

What certifications and environmental testing does the Nuvo-7160GC meet?

The system is tested to MIL-STD-810G Method 514.6 Category 4 for vibration and MIL-STD-810G Method 516.6 Procedure I, Table 516.6-II for shock. Safety certification is EN62368-1, and EMC certification is CE/FCC Class A according to EN 55032 and EN 55024.

What storage and memory expansion options are available?

The system supports up to 64 GB DDR4 2666/2400 SDRAM across two SODIMM slots. Storage options include:

Yes. It has 1x full-size mini PCI Express socket with an internal SIM socket (mux with mSATA), and 1x M.2 2242 B key socket with dual front-accessible SIM sockets supporting dual SIM mode with a selected M.2 LTE module.

What are the dimensions, weight, and mounting options?

The Nuvo-7160GC measures 240 mm (W) x 225 mm (D) x 111 mm (H) and weighs 4.5 Kg. It supports wall-mount (standard) or DIN-rail mount (optional).

Can the Nuvo-7160GC be expanded with additional I/O modules?

Yes, it has a MezIO™ expansion port compatible with Neousys MezIO™ modules, including options for additional serial ports (MezIO™-C180/C181), digital I/O (MezIO™-D220/D230), ignition power control (MezIO™-V20-EP), additional USB 3.1 ports (MezIO™-U4), and additional GigE or PoE+ ports (MezIO™-G4/G4P). Note that only the Nuvo-7160-PoE model supports MezIO™-G4P.

How-to Guides

Install an NVIDIA GPU card
  1. Locate the 1x PCIe x16 slot @ Gen3 (16-lane PCIe signals) inside the system's Cassette design.
  2. Select an NVIDIA® graphics card with TDP up to 120W and dimensions not exceeding 188 mm (L) x 121 mm (W).
  3. Install the card into the dual-slot allocation within the Cassette, ensuring proper seating in the PCIe x16 slot.
Install a 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD
  1. Locate the 2x internal SATA ports designed for 2.5" HDD/SSD installation.
  2. Install up to two 2.5" drives into the internal SATA ports.
  3. Configure RAID 0 or RAID 1 as needed, since the SATA ports support RAID 0/1.
Install an M.2 NVMe SSD or Intel Optane memory
  1. Locate the M.2 2280 M key socket (PCIe Gen3 x4).
  2. Insert the M.2 NVMe SSD or Intel® Optane™ memory module into the socket.
  3. Secure the module according to the M.2 2280 form factor.
Wire the DC power input
  1. Locate the 3-pin pluggable terminal block for DC input.
  2. Connect a power source within the 8~35VDC range to the terminal block.
  3. Alternatively, use the optional PA-280W-ET2 280W AC/DC power adapter (24V/11.67A) with cord end terminals for the terminal block.
Mount the Nuvo-7160GC
  1. Choose standard wall-mount or optional DIN-rail mount, both of which are supported by the system.
  2. For added shock/vibration protection, consider the optional Neousys damping bracket assembly designed for the Nuvo-7160GC/Nuvo-7164GC.
  3. Secure the unit using the chosen mounting method per its footprint of 240 mm (W) x 225 mm (D) x 111 mm (H).
