The SEMIL-1300 series provides the following interfaces, mostly via robust M12 connectors:

  • Optional 1x 10 GbE port by Intel X550AT controller (M12 X-coded, build option)

What are the power input requirements for the SEMIL-1300?

The SEMIL-1300 series accepts 8 to 48V DC input and includes built-in ignition power control for in-vehicle use. Optional AC-DC power adapters are also available: a 160W adapter (20V/8A) and a 120W adapter (20V/6A), both rated for -30 to 70°C operation.

What is the operating temperature range of the SEMIL-1300?

With a 35W CPU, the system operates from -40°C to 70°C. With CPUs of 65W or higher, the range is -40°C to 70°C when configured in 35W TDP mode, or -40°C to 50°C when configured in 65W TDP mode. For Xeon E 2176G/2278GE, i7-9700E, and i7-8700 running at 65W mode, the maximum operating temperature is limited to 50°C, and thermal throttling may occur under sustained full load. Storage temperature range is -40°C to 85°C, with 10%-90% non-condensing humidity. For sub-zero operation, a wide-temperature HDD or SSD is required.

What certifications does the SEMIL-1300 series have?

The SEMIL-1300 series is CE and FCC (Class A, per EN 55032 & EN 55035) certified, and is EN 50155 certified for rail applications. It also meets MIL-STD-810G Method 514.7 Category 4 for vibration and Method 516.7 Procedure I for shock.

What storage and memory expansion options are available?

The system supports up to 64 GB of ECC/non-ECC DDR4-2666/2400 SDRAM across two SODIMM sockets. For storage, it offers 2x internal SATA ports for 2.5" HDD/SSD installation with RAID 0/1 support, 2x full-size mSATA ports (muxed with mini-PCIe), and 1x M.2 2280 M key socket (PCIe Gen3 x4) for NVMe SSD installation.

Does the SEMIL-1300 support wireless or cellular connectivity?

Yes. The system includes 1x M.2 3042/3052 B key socket for a selected 4G/5G module and 1x M.2 2242/2252 E key socket for a selected WiFi module. It also has 2x full-size mini PCI Express sockets (muxed with mSATA) for further expansion.

What is the difference between SEMIL-1301 and SEMIL-1311J?

SEMIL-1301 is the standard half-rack rugged fanless computer with M12 I/Os. SEMIL-1311J is the same platform but adds Neousys' patented SuperCAP-based UPS with 2500 watt-second stored energy, providing power backup to sustain and safely shut down the system during power outages. SEMIL-1311J is also slightly heavier at 6 kg versus 5.8 kg for the SEMIL-1301.

What are the dimensions and mounting options for the SEMIL-1300?

The SEMIL-1300 measures 220mm (W) x 310mm (D) x 86.5mm (H), excluding the rack-mount bracket, in a standard 2U 19" half-rack form factor. It supports both rack-mounting and wall-mounting, and a joint plate accessory is available to mount two SEMIL units side by side.

What processors and chipset does the SEMIL-1300 use?

The SEMIL-1300 supports Intel Xeon E (2278GE, 2278GEL, 2176G) or 9th/8th-Gen Core i7/i5/i3 processors (LGA1151 socket), paired with the Intel C246 platform controller hub chipset and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630. It also supports Intel AMT 12.0 and TPM 2.0.

How-to Guides

Install a 2.5" HDD/SSD
  1. Locate the 2x internal SATA ports inside the SEMIL-1300 chassis.
  2. Install a 2.5" HDD or SSD into an available SATA port.
  3. For redundancy or performance, configure RAID 0 or RAID 1 using the two SATA ports as supported by the system.
Install an M.2 NVMe SSD or wireless module
  1. Identify the correct M.2 socket for your component: the M.2 2280 M key socket (PCIe Gen3 x4) is for NVMe SSDs, the M.2 3042/3052 B key socket is for a selected 4G/5G module, and the M.2 2242/2252 E key socket is for a selected WiFi module.
  2. Insert the appropriate M.2 module into its matching socket.
  3. Secure the module according to the socket's standard mounting screw.
Wire the DC power input
  1. Confirm your power source is within the supported 8 to 48V DC input range.
  2. Connect the DC input using the M12-Cable-Kit DC power cable, or use an optional PA-160W-OW (20V/8A) or PA-120W-OW (20V/6A) AC-DC power adapter with cord-end terminals for a terminal block.
  3. The system's built-in ignition power control can be used for in-vehicle power management.
Mount the SEMIL-1300 to a rack or wall
  1. Choose either 19" rack-mounting or wall-mounting, both of which are supported by the system's mechanical design.
  2. Attach the appropriate mounting bracket to the chassis (dimensions are 220mm (W) x 310mm (D) x 86.5mm (H) excluding the rack-mount bracket).
  3. To mount two SEMIL units side by side, use the optional joint-plate accessory.
