Connect optional internal power to the card
  1. Locate the internal power connector on the card, which accepts either a 4-pin LP4 (Large Drive Power) connector or a 15-pin SATA power connector.
  2. Connect an available LP4 or SATA power cable from your system's power supply to the card's internal power connector.
  3. With power connected, the card can deliver up to 900mA per USB port to bus-powered USB 3.0 devices (500mA for USB 2.0 devices), which is useful for high-power devices that need more current than the PCIe slot alone can provide.
Switch to the low-profile bracket for small form-factor cases
  1. Power down the system and remove the card from the PCIe slot if already installed.
  2. Remove the standard profile bracket that ships installed on the card.
  3. Attach the included low-profile/half-height bracket in its place.
  4. Install the card into an available PCI Express x4 or greater slot in your small form-factor case.
Install the card and connect USB devices
