The system accepts a DC input of 9~36 V. The user manual specifies 15-5.6 A for this voltage range. A UL-certified power supply or DC source rated 9-36 Vdc, suitable for use at minimum Tmax 60°C, meeting SELV or ES1, is required.
The power mode is AT/ATX, selectable via a jumper (default: AT).
Operating temperature is -10 to 60°C with 0.7 m/s airflow (-10 to 50°C when using MAXN_SUPER mode). Storage temperature is -40 to 85°C. Operating humidity is 95% at 40°C, non-condensing.
Certifications: CE, FCC, UKCA, CB, UL, BSMI, CCC. Note: no RED certification is included.
Note: derating of the maximum operating temperature is possible when using a cellular LTE module.
The Orin NX module offers either 8GB or 16GB LPDDR5 memory depending on SKU. Storage options include:
- 1 x M.2 2280 slot (PCIe x1 Gen4) — the system BSP is pre-installed on a 128GB NVMe M.2 SSD
- 1 x Micro SD slot
- 1 x M.2 3052 slot (USB signal) for expansion cards such as cellular modules
No onboard eMMC flash storage is listed on this SKU (Flash: -).
The system ships with a BSP based on Jetpack 5.1 or above. Super mode is supported with Jetpack 6.2 and above (on the -B2 SKUs). Allxon 24/7 remote monitoring and OTA deployment is also supported.
Dimensions (W x D x H): 194.8 x 174.3 x 65.85 mm (7.67" x 6.86" x 2.59"). Weight is 2.05 kg without packing material. Installation type is desktop.
The MIC-713-OX has an mPCIe slot (PCIe + USB 2.0) and an M.2 3052 slot (USB signal) that can accept optional cellular/LTE/5G/GNSS modules, along with 2 x Nano SIM slots for these expansion cards. The chassis also provides up to 7 SMA half-punched holes for antennas (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GNSS, 4G, 5G, etc.).
Note: the unit does not carry RED certification.
The MIC-713-OX Series includes four part numbers, differing by NVIDIA module memory and Super mode support:
- MIC-713-OX4A1: Orin NX 16GB, 128GB NVMe, no Super mode
- MIC-713-OX3A1: Orin NX 8GB, 128GB NVMe, no Super mode
- MIC-713-OX4B2: Orin NX 16GB, 128GB NVMe, Super mode supported
- MIC-713-OX3B2: Orin NX 8GB, 128GB NVMe, Super mode supported
A DIN rail kit (Advantech PN 98R27130000) is listed as an optional accessory for the MIC-713 series. The standard installation type listed in the specifications is desktop, with a mounting bracket accessory also available.
How-to Guides
- Ensure wiring is performed by a skilled person only.
- Use copper conductors only.
- Choose an appropriate wire diameter; the terminal block is suitable for 14 AWG wire with a torque value of 7 lb-in.
- Confirm the supply voltage is within 9 V DC to 36 V DC.
- Confirm the current rating is within 15 A to 5.6 A for the system.
- If your power adapter only provides a 2-pin or 3-pin phoenix connector, swap in the 4-pin phoenix connector included in the system accessory box.
- Take the mounting bracket (Advantech PN 1960110505N001) from the accessory box.
- Secure the bracket to the chassis using 4 screws (Advantech PN 1930007259-01, M4x4L).
- Install the system onto a table or surface using the bracket.
- Prepare a host PC. Refer to the software update SOP file on the BSP Download page for details.
- Shut down the MIC-713.
- Connect the MIC-713's internal Micro USB port to the host PC using the USB cable included in the accessory box.
- Press and hold the onboard recovery button.
- Press the reset button.
- After 5 seconds, release the recovery button.
- On the host PC, run the command
lsusb. If "NVIDIA Corp" appears, the MIC-713 is in recovery mode and ready for software update.
- Locate the COM port DIP switch (SW_COM1/SW_COM2) on the board.
- For RS-232 mode (default), set all 4 pins to OFF.
- For RS-422 mode, set Pin1 ON, Pin2 OFF, and configure Pin3/Pin4 for termination and RTS polarity as needed.
- For RS-485 mode, set Pin1 ON, Pin2 ON, and configure Pin3/Pin4 for termination and RTS polarity as needed.
- Locate the M.2 M-Key slot, which provides PCIe Gen4 x1 signal.
- If installing a 2242-size card, first install the optional standoff part (Advantech PN 1910000747).
- Insert the M.2 card into the slot and secure it.
