How-to Guides

Install a 3.5" HDD or 2.5" SSD
  1. Power off the MIC-717-OX and disconnect all cables.
  2. Locate the internal SATA port and HDD bay.
  3. Use the supplied SATA cable and HDD screws to secure a 1 x 3.5" HDD or 1 x 2.5" SSD into the bay.
  4. Connect the SATA cable to the internal SATA connector.
  5. Reassemble the enclosure and reconnect power.
Put the MIC-717-OX into Force USB Recovery Mode and Flash the System
  1. Prepare a HOST PC running x86 Linux (Ubuntu 20.04 or 18.04); avoid using a virtual machine due to USB device allocation issues.
  2. Shut down the MIC-717-OX.
  3. Connect the HOST PC to the MIC-717-OX internal USB port (CN14) using a USB cable.
  4. Set the SW_REC1 jumper to pins 2-3 to force USB Recovery Mode.
  5. Power on the MIC-717-OX.
  6. On the HOST PC, run lsusb and confirm the device shows as "NVidia Corp.", indicating recovery mode is active.
  7. Copy the flashing tool to the HOST PC and unzip it: sudo tar -xpjf MIC-717OX_Jetpack<version>_AutoLogin_<version>.tbz2 then cd Linux_for_Tegra/.
  8. Execute the flashing command: sudo ./tools/kernel_flash/l4t_initrd_flash.sh --external-device nvme0n1p1 -c tools/kernel_flash/flash_l4t_external.xml -p "-c bootloader/t186ref/cfg/flash_t234_qspi.xml" --showlogs --network usb0 p3509-a02+p3767-0000 internal.
  9. Power off the MIC-717-OX and move the SW_REC1 jumper back to pins 1-2.
  10. Power on the device. Log in using the default account (user: mic-717ox, password: mic-717ox).
Mount the MIC-717-OX on a Wall
  1. Attach the two supplied mounting brackets to the unit using the provided M4*5L screws.
  2. Position the unit against the wall using the wall mount dimensions as a guide.
  3. Secure the unit to the wall through the mounting bracket holes.
Install Rubber Feet for Desktop Use
  1. Turn the unit upside down to access the base.
  2. Attach the 4 supplied rubber feet using the M3*5L screws provided in the packing list.
  3. Place the unit upright on a flat, stable surface.
Access the M.2 Slots via the M.2 Cover
  1. Power off the unit and disconnect all cables.
  2. Remove the M.2 cover located at the bottom base of the enclosure.
  3. Install or replace the M.2 2280 (NVMe, PCIe x4) or M.2 3042 (USB) card as needed.
  4. Reattach the M.2 cover before powering the unit back on.
