Frequently Asked Questions
The Nuvo-2615RL provides:
- 4x Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ ports via M12 X-coded connectors (Intel I210 controller)
- 1x USB 3.1 Gen1 (5 Gbps) port with screw-lock
- 2x USB 2.0 ports with screw-lock
- 1x DVI-I port (supports both DVI and VGA signals, up to 1920x1080)
- 1x isolated RS-485 port with 15 kV ESD protection (COM1)
- 3x 3-wire RS-232 ports or 1x RS-422/485 port (COM2/3/4, configurable in BIOS)
- 1x 3.5 mm 4-pole audio jack for mic-in and speaker-out
- 4-channel isolated digital input and 4-channel isolated digital output
The system accepts an isolated 43V to 160V DC input via a 3-pin pluggable terminal block with 1500Vdc insulation. Supplying voltage over 160V will damage the system. Maximum power consumption is 32W at 35V under 100% CPU loading, or 135W at 35V when 4x PoE+ ports are also drawing 25.5W each.
Yes. The Nuvo-2615RL includes a built-in SuperCAP UPS module with 2500 watt-second capacity that can sustain the system through power interruptions greater than 30 seconds. If the outage exceeds the sustainable duration, the internal microcontroller triggers a software shutdown to protect the hardware and data. This feature is exclusive to the Nuvo-2615RL model (not the Nuvo-2610RL).
The Nuvo-2615RL operates fanless from -40°C to 70°C, compliant with EN50155 Class OT4. Storage temperature range is -40°C to 85°C. It carries EN50155 Class S3, EN50155 C2 compliance, all mandatory sections of EN 50155:2017, EN 45545-2 fire protection certification, EN 50155:2017 Clause 13.4.8 EMC compliance, and CE/FCC Class A per EN 55032 & EN 55035. Note: for sub-zero or over 60°C operation, a wide-temperature HDD or SSD is required.
The system supports up to 32GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM via one SODIMM socket. Storage options include one internal M.2 2280 M-key socket (SATA interface only) for an SSD, plus one front-accessible 2.5" HDD/SSD tray supporting drives up to 15mm in height and 5TB capacity.
The Nuvo-2615RL provides two full-size mini-PCIe sockets (one with PCIe and USB 2.0 signal, one with USB 2.0 signal only) for WiFi, GNSS, or CAN bus modules, and one M.2 3042/3052 B-key socket with USB 3.1 + USB 2.0 signal and dual internal micro-SIM sockets for 4G/5G mobile broadband modules.
Due to Intel's driver policy, the system officially supports Windows 10 64-bit (Professional and IoT Enterprise editions). For Linux, kernel versions no later than 5.8 are supported; Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS (5.8 kernel) has been tested. For Linux, the Intel I210 GbE driver may need to be manually compiled if not embedded in the kernel.
The system ships standard with a damping bracket, intended for in-vehicle deployments. An optional wall-mount bracket is also available as an accessory. Dimensions are 205 mm (W) x 156 mm (D) x 86 mm (H), and weight is 2.7kg.
The Nuvo-2615RL adds a built-in SuperCAP UPS (2500 watt-second) module not present on the Nuvo-2610RL. The Nuvo-2615RL is also taller (86 mm vs. 58 mm) and heavier (2.7kg vs. 2.1kg). EN50155 certification also differs: Nuvo-2610RL is EN50155 Class S1, C1, while Nuvo-2615RL is EN50155 Class S3, C2.
How-to Guides
- Disassemble the system enclosure as described in the disassembly section for your model.
- Remove the screws securing the heatsink to expose the SODIMM slot on the motherboard.
- Insert the gold fingers of the memory module into the slot at a 45 degree angle.
- Push down on the edge of the module until the side clips secure it into position.
- Reinstall the system enclosure or panel when done.
- Disassemble the system enclosure as described in the disassembly section for your model.
- Remove the screws indicated and remove the heatsink to access the M.2 slot.
- Insert the M.2 2280 module at a 45 degree angle.
- Gently press down and secure the module with an M3 P-head screw.
- Reinstall the system enclosure or bottom panel when done.
- Place the system on a flat, sturdy surface and turn the thumb screws on the tray anti-clockwise.
- Gently pull out the 2.5" HDD/SSD tray. With the HDD/SSD label facing down, secure the drive using the provided screws (two on each side).
- Insert the tray back into the slot until you feel resistance, then secure it by tightening the thumb screws clockwise.
- Disassemble the system enclosure and remove the heatsink to access the M.2 B-key and SIM card slots.
- Slide the metallic SIM cover in the direction shown and lift it to expose the socket and gold fingers.
- Place the micro-SIM card in the correct orientation, lower the cover, and slide it to secure the SIM card.
- Insert the M.2 3042/3052 module at a 45 degree angle into the slot and secure it with the provided screw.
- Reinstall the system enclosure or bottom panel when done.
- Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS setup.
- Go to
Power>Wake on LANand set it toEnabled. - Press F10 to save changes and exit BIOS, allowing the system to boot into the operating system.
