The Nuvo-8208GC is a rugged industrial PC designed for various AI applications. It is powered by Intel® Xeon® E or 8th/ 9th-Gen Core™ 8-core/ 16-thread CPUs and is equipped with a Intel C246 chipset offering support for 128 GB ECC or non-ECC DDR4 RAM. The Nuvo-8208GC is capable of running off a vehicle battery for autonomous driving or other sources for security and vision inspection.

The system is rated for -25°C to 60°C operation with 35W CPU and dual NVIDIA® 250W GPUs. In 65W TDP mode, the operating range is -25°C to 50°C. Storage temperature range is -40°C to 85°C. Note: for i7-9700E and i7-8700 running at 65W mode, the highest operating temperature is limited to 50°C, and thermal throttling may occur under sustained full load; CPU power mode can be configured in BIOS. Sub-zero operation requires a wide-temperature HDD or SSD.

How-to Guides

Install a 2.5" HDD/SSD in the hot-swap trays
  1. Locate the two hot-swappable 2.5" HDD/SSD trays on the Nuvo-8208GC.
  2. Install a 2.5" HDD or SSD into a tray.
  3. Insert the tray into the system; the trays support RAID 0/1 configuration when two drives are installed.
Install an M.2 NVMe SSD
  1. Locate the M.2 2280 M key socket (PCIe Gen3 x4) inside the chassis.
  2. Insert the M.2 2280 NVMe SSD (or Intel® Optane™ memory module) into the socket.
  3. Secure the module according to the standard M.2 mounting screw point.
Wire the DC power input
  1. Confirm the power source is within the supported 8~35V DC wide-range input.
  2. Connect the power leads to the 2-pin pluggable terminal block DC input on the unit.
  3. If deploying in a vehicle, use the built-in ignition power control feature to manage power via the car's ignition system.
Mount the Nuvo-8208GC on a wall
  1. Use the included damping brackets designed for wall-mount installation.
  2. Attach the damping brackets to the chassis.
  3. Mount the unit to the wall using the brackets to help absorb vibration (rated to withstand 3 Grms).
Configure CPU power mode in BIOS for higher operating temperature
  1. Access the system BIOS setup.
  2. Locate the CPU power configuration setting (35W or 65W TDP mode).
  3. Select the desired TDP mode; note that 35W mode supports operation up to 60°C, while 65W mode supports operation up to 50°C.
  4. For i7-9700E and i7-8700 running at 65W mode, be aware the highest operating temperature is limited to 50°C and thermal throttling may occur under sustained full load.
