What are the power input requirements for the Nuvo-9200VTC?

The system accepts 8V to 48V wide-range DC input via a 3-pin pluggable terminal block, with built-in ignition power control. Supplying a voltage over 48V will damage the system. There is also a separate 3-pin pluggable terminal block for remote control and PWR LED output.

What is the operating temperature range of the Nuvo-9200VTC?

With a 35W CPU, the operating temperature range is -40°C to 70°C with one memory module installed, or -40°C to 60°C with two memory modules installed. With a 65W CPU, the operating range is -40°C to 50°C (2-slot memory configuration), and thermal throttling may occur under sustained full load. Storage temperature is -40°C to 85°C. Sub-zero operation requires a wide-temperature HDD or SSD.

What certifications does the Nuvo-9200VTC hold?

The system is E-Mark and EN 45545-2 certified, and complies with EN 50121 (EN 50155 EMC) and CE/FCC Class A per EN 55032 & EN 55035. It also meets EN 50155:2017/IEC 61373 Category I, Class B (body mounted) for vibration and shock.

What storage and memory expansion options are available?

The Nuvo-9200VTC supports up to 64GB DDR5 4800 SDRAM across two SODIMM slots. For storage, it has 2x hot-swappable HDD trays for 2.5" HDD/SSD installation supporting RAID 0/1, plus 1x M.2 2280 M key slot (PCIe Gen4 x4) for an NVMe SSD.

What internal expansion sockets are available for wireless modules?

The system has 1x full-size mini-PCIe socket, 2x full-size mini-PCIe sockets (USB signal only) with internal SIM sockets, and 1x M.2 2242/3052 B key socket with SIM slot for a 5G/4G module plus another M.2 2242/3052 B key socket with SIM slot for a 4G module. These support installation of 5G/4G, WiFi, GPS, and CAN modules for wireless communication.

Does the Nuvo-9200VTC support a PCIe add-on card?

Yes. The system has a patented Cassette module accommodating 1x PCIe x16 slot at Gen3 with 16-lane PCIe signals, allowing installation of a single-slot PCIe add-on card in a separate thermally-managed compartment.

What operating systems and drivers are supported?

Tested operating systems include Microsoft Windows 10 LTSC 2021 (x64) and Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS, 22.04 LTS, 22.04.1 LTS, or other distributions with kernel version 5.15 or later. On Linux, users may need to manually compile drivers for Intel graphics or the I225/I226 GbE controller if not embedded in the kernel.

What are the dimensions and mounting options for the Nuvo-9200VTC?

The Nuvo-9200VTC measures 240 mm (W) x 225 mm (D) x 103 mm (H) and weighs approximately 3.9 kg. It is designed for wall-mounting with a damping bracket (standard).

What is the difference between the Nuvo-9200VTC, Nuvo-9204VTC, and Nuvo-9208VTC?

All three models share the same core specs but differ in PoE+ connector type and port count: the Nuvo-9200VTC uses 4x M12 PoE+ ports, the Nuvo-9204VTC uses 4x RJ45 PoE+ ports, and the Nuvo-9208VTC uses 8x RJ45 PoE+ ports.

How-to Guides

Install an M.2 2280 NVMe SSD
  1. Refer to the "Disassembling the System" section; you may not need to completely dismantle the system to access the M.2 slot.
  2. Insert the M.2 module into the slot at a 45-degree angle.
  3. Gently press down and secure the module with an M3 P-head screw.
  4. Remove the thermal pad protector film from the heatsink/support frame for the NVMe SSD.
  5. Reinstall the system enclosure and panel when done.
Install a HDD/SSD into the Hot-swappable Tray
  1. Pull the lever on the 2.5" external hot-swappable slot to swing open the cover.
  2. With the label side facing upward, insert the SATA connector side of the 2.5" HDD/SSD into the slot first, pushing firmly until fully inserted.
  3. Push the lever into the slot until it snaps into position. Use the supplied key to lock the external slot if desired.
  4. Repeat the steps to install a drive into the other tray.
Install a PCIe Card into the Cassette Module
  1. Turn the system upside-down and remove the four screws at the bottom of the Cassette module.
  2. Gently wiggle and separate the Cassette module from the system enclosure.
  3. Remove the screws to open the Cassette cover.
  4. Place the provided cube spacers onto the back of the PCIe card to prevent contact with the enclosure.
  5. Remove the bezel cover and insert the card into the PCIe slot, ensuring the bezel fits into the notch and the card is secured with a screw.
  6. Secure the indicated screw.
  7. Lower the Cassette module back onto the system enclosure and secure it with screws.
Wire the Ignition Power Signal
  1. Connect the vehicle Battery+ line (12V for sedan, 24V for bus/truck) to the V+ terminal.
  2. Connect the vehicle Battery-/GND line to the GND terminal.
  3. Connect the vehicle ACC line to the IGN terminal.
  4. Ensure the DC power source and IGN signal share the same ground. IGN input accepts 8~48VDC; supplying a voltage higher than 48VDC may damage the system.
Set Up a RAID Volume in BIOS
  1. Ensure at least two hard drives or SSDs are installed, and back up any existing data before proceeding.
  2. Press F2 at boot to enter BIOS setup utility.
  3. Go to Advanced > System Agent (SA) Configuration > VMD setup menu, select Enable VMD controller, and set it to Enabled.
  4. Press F10 to save changes and reboot the system.
  5. When the system reboots, press F3 to enter the Device Manager configuration utility and select Intel Rapid Storage Technology.
  6. Select Create RAID Volume, name the volume, choose RAID Level (RAID-0 or RAID-1), select disks, set stripe size (if RAID-0) and capacity, then select Create Volume.
  7. Press F10 to save and Esc to exit.
