The PPC-317S RPL requires a 24VDC ± 20% power input. Power consumption depends on the installed CPU: 70W (i3-1315UE), 75W (i5-1335UE), and 85W (i7-1365UE).
The operating temperature range is -10 to 50 °C (32 to 122 °F). Storage temperature for the 17" model is -20 to 60 °C (-4 to 140 °F). Relative humidity is rated at 95% @ 40 °C, non-condensing.
Certifications include CE, FCC Class B, BSMI, EN60601-1-2, UKCA (EMC) and CB, UL, CCC, UKCA (safety). The front panel is IP66 compliant.
Memory: 1 x SODIMM slot, DDR5 4800MHz, up to 32GB.
Storage: 1 x 2.5" SATA bay (optional; PPC-312SW variant has this as standard) and 1 x M.2 M Key 2242/2280 slot supporting SATA or NVMe PCIe x4, with SATA RAID 0/1 support.
Additional expansion: 1 x M.2 B key 2242 or 3042/3052 (SATA, PCIe x1, USB 3.0 & SIM slot) and 1 x M.2 E Key 2230 (PCIe & USB 2.0).
The PPC-317S RPL supports Windows 10 LTSC, Windows 11, and Linux.
The 17" PPC-317S RPL measures 393.4 x 325.8 x 53.4 mm (15.5 x 12.8 x 2.1 in) and weighs 5.17 kg (11.4 lb). The panel cutout dimension is 384.5 x 316.9 mm (15.14 x 12.48 in).
Wireless is supported through the M.2 E Key 2230 (PCIe & USB 2.0) slot. Advantech offers an optional Wi-Fi module, PPC-WLAN-D2 (M.2, WiFi6 + BT5.2, 2T2R, with antenna), as an accessory for this purpose.
The 17" model is available with either a 5-wire resistive touchscreen or a multi-touch projected capacitive (P-Cap) touchscreen. Light transmission is 80%±5% for the resistive version or greater than 86% for the P-Cap version. Ordering codes distinguish the two: PPC-317S-RDI* for resistive and PPC-317S-PDI5A for P-Cap (i5 only).
iDoor is an optional expansion slot on the PPC-317S RPL used to add fieldbus or proprietary interface cards. Available iDoor modules include:

Note: the iDoor slot, additional USB ports module, and 2.5" SATA bay share the same physical space and cannot all be installed at the same time.
How-to Guides
- Decide on your primary storage: either the 1 x 2.5" SATA bay or the M.2 B key 2242/3042/3052 slot. Per the datasheet, you must choose one or the other — they cannot both be used for storage at the same time.
- If you need an iDoor module (for fieldbus or proprietary interface cards) or the additional USB ports module (2 x USB 2.0), note that these two options and the 2.5" SATA bay share the same physical space inside the enclosure — only one of the three can be installed.
- If PCI/PCIe expansion is required, order the optional add-on box for PCI or PCIe expansion (98R1P300S00), which includes a PCIe riser card. The riser supports PCIe x1 signaling even though the physical slot is PCIe x4 (PCIe x1 compatible).
- For wireless connectivity, use the M.2 E Key 2230 slot with the optional PPC-WLAN-D2 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module.
