- An optional 10 GbE port via Intel X550AT (M12 X-coded), backward compatible with 5Gb, 2.5Gb, and GbE connections
The system accepts 8 to 48V DC input via an M12 S-coded connector. It has a built-in ignition power control feature that reads the IGN/GND signal via the M12 serial port connector, useful for in-vehicle installations. Supplying voltage over 48V will damage the system.
Maximum power consumption with the Intel Xeon E-2278GE CPU is approximately 188.88W at 24V or 192W at 48V (max TDP), and 148.08W at 24V or 150.24W at 48V when configured for 35W TDP.
With a 35W CPU, the system operates from -40°C to 70°C. With a CPU rated 65W or higher, it can run -40°C to 70°C when the CPU is configured in BIOS for 35W TDP mode, or -40°C to 50°C when configured for 65W TDP mode (thermal throttling may occur under sustained full load in this mode). Storage temperature is -40°C to 85°C, with humidity tolerance of 10% to 90% non-condensing.
The system is compliant with MIL-STD-810G for vibration (Method 514.6/514.7, Category 4) and shock (Method 516.6/516.7, Procedure I). EMC certifications include EN 50121 (EN 50155 EMC) and CE/FCC Class A per EN 55032 and EN 55035. Note that sub-zero operation requires a wide-temperature-rated HDD or SSD.
The system supports:
- 2x internal SATA ports for 2.5" HDD/SSD installation, supporting RAID 0/1
- 2x full-size mSATA ports (muxed with mini-PCIe)
- 1x M.2 2280 M-key socket (PCIe Gen3 x4) for NVMe SSD or Intel Optane memory
- 2x full-size mini PCI Express sockets (muxed with mSATA); SEMIL-17x8GC models add 2 additional full-size mini-PCIe sockets
- Up to 64GB of DDR4-2666/2400 SDRAM (ECC or non-ECC) across two SO-DIMM sockets
Neousys has tested the system with Microsoft Windows 10 (x64), Fedora 29, and Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS / 18.04.0 LTS. For other Linux distributions, the kernel should be 4.15.18 or later. On Linux, users may need to manually compile and install drivers for the Intel graphics or I210 GbE controller if not already included in the kernel. Neousys also provides a Drivers & Utilities DVD that can automatically detect the Windows OS and install all necessary drivers.
The SEMIL-1700GC Series measures 440mm (W) x 310mm (D) x 90.5mm (H), excluding the rack-mount bracket. Weight is 12 kg for the SEMIL-1724GC/1744GC and 12.2 kg for the SEMIL-1728GC/1748GC. The system uses a patented 2U 19" chassis and supports both rack-mounting and wall-mounting.
The system has full-size mini-PCIe expansion slots (2 slots on all models, with 2 additional slots on SEMIL-17x8GC models). Off-the-shelf mini-PCIe modules can be installed to add features such as 5G/4G, WiFi, GPS, CAN bus, or an analog frame grabber. Note: if a wireless module is installed after purchase, the unit may need to be returned to Neousys or an authorized SEMIL distributor for SMA antenna installation to preserve the IP67 waterproof rating.
All four models share the same chassis, CPU options, and DC input, but differ in GPU and PoE+ port count:
- SEMIL-1724GC: NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada, 4 total PoE+ ports (1x I219 + 3x I210), 2x USB 2.0, no audio port
- SEMIL-1728GC: NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada, 8 total PoE+ ports (1x I219 + 7x I210), 4x USB 2.0, includes mic-in/speaker-out audio port
- SEMIL-1744GC: NVIDIA L4, 4 total PoE+ ports (1x I219 + 3x I210), 2x USB 2.0, no audio port
