The system accepts 8~35VDC via a 3-pin pluggable terminal block, which also supports ignition signal input. Maximum power consumption depends on installed CPU: 72W (Max.) @ 24V with i7-8700T (35W mode), 68.4W (Max.) @ 24V with i5-8500T (35W mode), and 62.64W (Max.) @ 24V with i3-8100T (35W mode).
With a 35W CPU, operating temperature is -25°C to 70°C. With a 65W CPU, it is -25°C to 70°C when configured as 35W TDP, or -25°C to 50°C when configured as 65W TDP. Storage temperature is -40°C to 85°C, humidity 10%-90% non-condensing. The system is rated for MIL-STD-810G vibration (Method 514.6, Category 4) and shock (Method 516.6, Procedure I, Table 516.6-II), and is CE/FCC Class A compliant per EN 55032 & EN 55024. Note that sub-zero operation requires a wide-temperature HDD or SSD.
The system supports up to 64GB DDR4-2666/2400 SDRAM via two SODIMM slots. Storage options include 2x internal SATA ports for 2.5" HDD/SSD (up to 15mm thickness, RAID 0/1 supported), 1x M.2 2280 M-key NVMe socket (PCIe Gen3 x4) for an NVMe SSD or Intel Optane memory, and 1x full-size mSATA port (muxed with mini-PCIe).
Neousys has tested the system with Microsoft Windows 10 (x64), Fedora 29, and Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS / 18.04.0 LTS. For other Linux distributions, the kernel should be upgraded to 4.15.18 or later. On Linux, users may need to manually compile and install graphics or I210 GbE drivers. Drivers can be installed automatically or manually from the included Drivers & Utilities DVD.
The Nuvo-7000DE measures 240 mm (W) x 225 mm (D) x 110.5 mm (H) and weighs approximately 3.7 kg. It supports wall-mounting (standard) or DIN-rail mounting (optional).
Yes. The system has a full-size mini PCI Express socket (muxed with mSATA) with an internal SIM socket, and an M.2 2242 B-key socket with dual front-accessible SIM sockets supporting dual SIM mode with a selected M.2 LTE module. SMA antenna apertures are located on the front and rear panels for WiFi/3G/4G modules. Dual SIM functionality is only available with the Sierra Wireless EM7455/7430 solution; other 4G modules default to SIM slot 1.
The Nuvo-7000DE features a dual-slot Cassette module with 2x PCIe x8 slots (Gen3, 4-lane signals). This differs from the Nuvo-7000E, which has a single PCIe slot, and the Nuvo-7000P, which has a single PCI slot in its Cassette.
Yes. The 2x internal SATA ports support RAID 0 (striping) or RAID 1 (mirroring), configurable in either Legacy or UEFI BIOS mode via the Intel RST Premium With Intel Optane System Acceleration SATA mode setting.
The MezIO interface is a Neousys-patented expansion port that provides computer signals, power rails, and control signals via a high-speed board-to-board connector, allowing add-on modules (such as DIO, RS-232/422/485, GbE, USB3, or ignition power control) to be installed. The system has 1x MezIO expansion port for Neousys MezIO modules.
How-to Guides
- Refer to the "Disassembling the System" procedure to open the enclosure.
- Locate the two SODIMM memory module slots on the motherboard.
- Insert the gold fingers of the memory module into the slot at a 45-degree angle, then push down to clip the module into position.
- Push the memory module down until it is fully clipped in.
- Repeat for the second module if installing dual modules.
- Reinstall the system enclosure and panels when done.
- Refer to the "Disassembling the System" section; complete disassembly may not be necessary to access the M.2 slot.
- Insert the module into the M.2 2280 M-key slot at a 45-degree angle.
- Gently press down and secure the module with an M2.5 P-head screw.
- Reinstall the system enclosure and panel when done.
- For Optane memory acceleration of a traditional hard drive, refer to the Intel Optane Memory BIOS Setup and Driver Installation procedure.
- Confirm the DC power source voltage is between 8 and 35VDC before connecting; supplying over 35V will damage the system.
- Connect the DC power wires to the 3-pin pluggable terminal block on the rear panel, using the screw clamping mechanism for a secure connection.
- If needed for in-vehicle applications, the same terminal block can accept an ignition signal (IGN) input when an ignition control module is installed.
- Double-check polarity and voltage before powering on the system.
- Turn the system upside-down and remove the four screws securing the Cassette module.
- Gently wiggle the Cassette module to separate it from the system enclosure.
- Remove the screw securing the Cassette cover to open it.
- Remove the bezel cover, then insert the PCIe card into one of the two PCIe slots, ensuring the bezel is properly seated in the notch and the card is secured with a screw. Repeat for the second slot if installing a second card.
- Secure the Cassette cover screw.
- Lower the Cassette module back onto the system enclosure and secure it with the mounting screws.
- Remove the four rubber stands at the bottom of the enclosure if attached.
- For wall mounting: attach the two wall mount brackets to the enclosure using the supplied M4 screws, then secure the assembly to a flat wall surface with four M4 pan screws, orienting the heatsink fins perpendicular to the ground for better heat dissipation.
- For DIN-rail mounting (optional kit): fix the DIN-rail clip to the mounting bracket using four M4 flat-head screws, attach the bracket assembly to the system with four M4 screws, then clip the assembled system onto the DIN rail.
