  • Microsoft Windows 10 (x64)
  • Fedora 29
  • Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS and Ubuntu 18.04.0 LTS

For other Linux distributions, the kernel should be upgraded to 4.15.18 or later. On Linux, users may need to manually compile and install drivers for Intel graphics or the I210 GbE controller if not embedded in the kernel. Drivers are available for download from Neousys/CoastIPC.

What are the dimensions and weight of the Nuvo-8111, and how is it mounted?

The Nuvo-8111 measures 174 mm (W) x 330 mm (D) x 174 mm (H) and weighs 4.5 kg. An optional wall-mount bracket is available and can be installed using the supplied M4 screws.

Does the Nuvo-8111 support wireless or cellular connectivity?

The mSATA slot includes a Mini-SIM (2FF) card slot to support 4G/5G modules. There is also an SMA antenna aperture on the front panel for wireless (WIFI/3G/4G) communication.

What graphics card can the Nuvo-8111 support?

The system supports an independent NVIDIA graphics card up to 200W TDP via its PCIe x16 Gen3 (16-lane) slot, such as an RTX 3060/3060 Ti, in addition to the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630.

What expansion slots does the Nuvo-8111 have?

The system provides 3 expansion slots:

  • 1x PCIe x16 slot @Gen3, 16-lane (supports up to a 200W NVIDIA graphics card)

Note: the I/O panel table also lists a 33MHz/32-bit 5V PCI slot, while the specification table lists PCI as N/A; please confirm current configuration before publishing.

How-to Guides

Install a DDR4 SO-DIMM Memory Module
  1. Disassemble the system enclosure by removing the I/O panel, side panel, and rear panel screws, then lift off the L-shaped cover panel.
  2. Locate the SODIMM memory module slot on the motherboard.
  3. Insert the memory module's gold fingers into the slot at a 45-degree angle.
  4. Push down on the memory module until it clips into position.
  5. Reinstall the system enclosure and panel when done.

Note: the system supports a single SODIMM slot up to 32GB non-ECC DDR4-2666. Changing DRAM modules causes an approximately 30-60 second delay on the next boot.

Install an mSATA Module and Mini-SIM Card
  1. Disassemble the system enclosure to access internal components.
  2. Locate the mSATA slot and Mini-SIM card slot on the motherboard.
  3. Slide open the SIM slot holder, insert the Mini-SIM card with pins facing upward, then close and slide the holder to lock the card in place.
  4. Insert the mSATA (mPCIe) module at a 45-degree angle into the slot and secure it with an M3 P-head screw.
  5. Clip the IPEX-to-SMA cable onto the module and secure the antenna to the front or rear panel.
  6. Reinstall the system enclosure and panel when done.
Install a 2.5" HDD/SSD
  1. Disassemble the system enclosure to access internal components.
  2. Remove the screws securing the HDD/SSD tray, located beneath the daughterboard, and pull out the tray.
  3. With the SATA connectors facing inwards, secure the HDD/SSD to the tray using flathead screws from underneath. You may install one or two drives.
  4. Insert the tray about 3/4 of the way in, then firmly and gently push it fully into place to engage the SATA connectors.
  5. Secure the screws holding the tray in place.
  6. Reinstall the system enclosure and panel when done.

Note: supports HDD/SSD up to 15mm thickness.

Install a Graphics Card (up to 200W)
  1. Disassemble the system enclosure to access internal expansion slots.
  2. Remove the last two PCIe panel covers.
  3. Gently lower the graphics card into the PCIe x16 slot, ensuring the gold finger is fully inserted and the I/O panel is properly seated, then secure with a screw.
  4. Depending on the graphics card's power demands, connect the corresponding 6-pin and/or 8-pin power cable from the daughterboard to the graphics card.
  5. Reinstall the system enclosure and panel when done.

Consult Neousys/CoastIPC before purchasing a graphics card to confirm installation compatibility.

Enable Wake-on-LAN
  1. Press F2 during system boot to enter BIOS setup utility.
  2. Go to Power > Wake On LAN and set it to Enabled.
  3. Press F10 to save changes and exit BIOS, allowing the system to boot into the operating system.
  4. In Windows, press Windows key + E, right-click Network, select Properties > Change adapter settings.
  5. Double-click the Intel I219 Gigabit Network Connection adapter and click Configure.
  6. Click the Power Management tab, enable the relevant Wake-on-LAN options, and click OK.

Make sure the Intel chipset and Ethernet drivers are properly installed before setting up WOL.
