Frequently Asked Questions
The Nuvo-9000LP is available in two Ethernet configurations. The Nuvo-9002LP has 1x 2.5G Ethernet port (Intel I226-IT/I225-IT) and 1x Gigabit Ethernet port (Intel I219-LM). The Nuvo-9006LP has 5x 2.5G Ethernet ports and 1x Gigabit Ethernet port. All ports use screw-lock connectors. An optional IEEE 802.3at PoE+ PSE configuration is available for ports 3~6 (2.5GbE) with a 100 W total power budget on the 35W CPU.
The system provides 1x USB 3.2 Gen2x2 (20 Gbps) port in a type-C connector, 4x USB 3.2 Gen2x1 (10 Gbps) ports in type-A connectors, 2x USB 3.2 Gen1x1 (5 Gbps) ports in type-A connectors, and 2x USB 2.0 ports.
The unit accepts 8 to 48V DC input through a 3-pin pluggable terminal block. A separate variant (UL series) uses a 3-pin pluggable terminal block for 24V DC input. Neousys offers optional power adapters: a 160W AC-DC adapter (20V/8A) recommended for the 35W CPU, and a 280W AC/DC adapter (24V/11.67A) recommended for the 65W CPU or 35W CPU with PoE+ option.
The system is rated for fanless operation from -25°C to 70°C. This range applies to CPUs configured at 35W TDP; if the CPU is configured at 65W TDP, the maximum operating temperature is limited to 50°C, and thermal throttling may occur under sustained full-load conditions. For sub-zero operation, a wide temperature HDD or SSD is required. Storage components are rated for -40°C to 85°C, and humidity tolerance is 10%~90% non-condensing.
The system meets MIL-STD-810H Method 514.8 Category 4 for vibration and Method 516.8 Procedure I for shock. It carries CE/FCC Class A EMC certification per EN 55032 and EN 55035. UL series variants are certified to UL 62368-1 and IEC 62368-1.
Unlike the other Cassette-based Nuvo-9000 variants, the Nuvo-9000LP has a hot-swappable 2.5" HDD tray (for 7mm HDD/SSD) and 1x internal 2.5" SATA port, supporting RAID 0/1. It also supports 1x M.2 2280 M-key NVMe socket (PCIe Gen4x4) for an NVMe SSD, which can boost disk read/write speeds up to 7000 MB/s.
The system supports up to 64 GB of DDR5 4800 SDRAM using two SODIMM slots.
The Nuvo-9000LP series measures 240 mm (W) x 225 mm (D) x 79 mm (H) and weighs 3.36 kg. It supports wall-mount (standard) or DIN-rail mount (optional, using the DINRAIL-O accessory).
The system provides 1x VGA port (up to 1920 x 1200), 1x DVI-D port (up to 1920 x 1200), and 1x DisplayPort (up to 4096 x 2304), supporting triple independent displays with integrated graphics.
The system includes 1x M.2 2242/3052 B-key socket with a SIM slot for an M.2 5G/4G module, plus a full-size mini PCI Express socket for additional expansion.
Unlike the Nuvo-9000E, Nuvo-9000DE, and Nuvo-9000P models, which use a patented Cassette design for PCIe/PCI add-on card expansion (single PCIe x16, dual PCIe x16, or single PCI slot respectively), the Nuvo-9000LP replaces the Cassette with a hot-swappable 2.5" HDD tray for more flexible storage. It is also the shortest of the family at 79 mm (H), compared to 90 mm (E/P series) and 110.5 mm (DE series).
How-to Guides
- Identify the 3-pin pluggable terminal block on the Nuvo-9000LP labeled for 8 to 48V DC input (or 24V DC input on UL series units).
- Use a compatible power source; Neousys offers the PA-160W-OW (160W, 20V/8A, recommended for 35W CPU) or PA-280W-ET2 (280W, 24V/11.67A, recommended for 65W CPU or 35W CPU with PoE+ option) adapters, both with cord-end terminals for terminal block connection.
- Connect the DC input leads to the terminal block according to the power adapter's polarity markings.
- Note the power adapter's operating temperature rating (-30°C to 70°C for PA-160W-OW; -30°C to 60°C for PA-280W-ET2) when planning installation environment.
- Locate the hot-swappable 2.5" HDD tray on the front of the Nuvo-9000LP chassis.
- Insert a 7mm-height 2.5" HDD or SSD into the tray.
- The tray connects to an internal 2.5" SATA port supporting RAID 0/1 configuration alongside the fixed internal SATA drive.
- Locate the M.2 2280 M-key socket inside the Nuvo-9000LP chassis, which supports PCIe Gen4x4 signaling.
- Install a compatible NVMe M.2 2280 SSD into the socket.
- Secure the SSD according to the M.2 2280 form factor mounting point.
- Obtain the optional DINRAIL-O DIN-rail mount assembly accessory.
- Attach the DIN-rail bracket to the Nuvo-9000LP chassis in place of the standard wall-mount configuration.
- Secure the unit onto the DIN rail per the bracket's mounting mechanism.
Nuvo-9000 series is Neousys’ new rugged embedded computer based on Intel's 14th/13th/12th-Gen platform. Benefiting from cutting-edge Intel 7 photolithography, the latest Core desktop processor comes with up to 24 cores and 32 threads and presents an incredible boost of computational performance. Combining the increase of DDR5 memory bandwidth and PCIe Gen4 NVMe high-speed disk read/write, users can expect an overall performance improvement of up to 2x compared to previous 10th or 11th-Gen platforms.
The Nuvo-9000 series inherits Neousys’ patented expansion cassette design, which provides great versatility by allowing the additional installation of PCIe or PCI add-on cards. There are three expansion Cassette options available for the Nuvo-9000 series. The Nuvo-9000E features a single x16 Gen3 PCIe slot, the Nuvo-9000DE has dual x16 PCIe slots, and the Nuvo-9000P has a single PCI slot. For users who need more flexible storage, Nuvo-9000LP has a 2.5” HDD tray instead of an expansion Cassette to support a hot-swappable 2.5” HDD/SSD.
I/O functions are also comprehensively enhanced. In addition to six 2.5G and Gigabit Ethernet ports with PoE+ PSE option, the Nuvo-9000 series features a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 type-C port offering 20 Gbps bandwidth for data exchange with external devices, plus another six USB 3.2 type-A ports for USB3 camera connectivity. It also has an upgraded M.2 Gen4x4 slot to support the latest NVMe SSD, boosting disk read/write speed up to 7000 MB/s. For unfulfilled I/O requirements, users can utilize the expansion Cassette to add on function-specific PCIe/PCI cards, the proprietary MezIO interface, and internal mini-PCIe/M.2 interfaces.
With its field-proven thermal design, significant CPU and I/O upgrades, and multiple expansion methods, the Neousys Nuvo-9000 series meets your needs for ruggedness, performance, and versatility in various applications.
